It’s funny because this book addresses all of those issues, such as discrimination: Mudblood as a slanderous term for wizards who had non-wizarding parents.  A muggle was considered “different” than a wizard and their lives had to be completely separate, with different place to eat, drink, go to school, live in different places.  Not to mention the house elf as a slave and giants being outcasted in the mountains (they obviously could get along with humans as Hagrid is only half giant)

The difference between the Harry Potter series and other stories for children is that they are given to children in a way that is easily digested and form their own opinions (Do you agree with SPEW?)  That’s the beauty of JK Rowling.
